In this tutorial - you will learn how to create a grenade launcher from scratch, using Adobe Substance Modeler in VR mode. Learn the techniques i use for my artwork and how to use Adobe Substance Modeler fast and efficient to create amazing Concept work for your portfolio or future projects and have tons of fun while doing it. Adobe Substance Modeler has both VR and desktop modes - but I will focus exclusively on the VR mode for this tutorial.

Great for beginners and experienced artists to learn how to create art in Modeler with freedom and efficiency.

In this tutorial - I will talk you through my entire process, from the very first blockout stage, refinement stage and final detailing stage. Along the way, I will explain and demonstrate all the tools and tricks I use.

While I recommend that you familiarize yourself with the very basic VR controls before hand - this tutorial should be great for Beginners and Experienced artists who would like to learn new techniques or grow their existing skills and use their hands to create. 

To keep things simple in this first tutorial - rather than designing AND sculpting: we will be sculpting fan-art grenade launcher from the game Darktide. This allows me to focus on giving you a good thorough guided tour through the principles of vr sculpting in Modeler.

You will learn:

- Hardsurface block out sculpting in Modeler, working on primary forms and shapes for grenade launcher concept.

- Hardsurface form refinement and mid level detail sculpting in Modeler , working on more detailed forms and shapes for grenade launcher concept.

- Hardsurface fine detail sculpting in Modeler, using surface brushes and hand-carving to create fine surface details and weathering effects.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

In its current form - Substance Modeler has limited recording options and a narrow field of view for the recording window. This means that at some points in the videos - you will see me operate menus that are not fully visible in the recording. That is an issue inherent to the software at the time of recording. I explain everything I do multiple times to make up for this limitation and it is something the Modeler team is working to remedy.
